Duolingo is a language-learning service with a mobile app that specializes in beginner language-learning. Duolingo is proficient in at least one of their social media presences: TikTok. The Duolingo owl mascot carries their TikTok posts by keeping up with the latest trends and going straight for Gen Z’s sense of humor. They understand their audience for the platform because a majority of TikTok users are in Gen Z. One suggestion that I could make to Duolingo is to use that same energy that goes into their TikTok into the other platforms. Their consistent TikTok videos and comments increase their visibility on the app. If that same energy was used for their Instagram or Twitter accounts, they would be more visible for those apps as well. Their Twitter is currently used more or less as a direct contact platform for people that tweet at them first. To hit the same energy as their TikTok, they should start making more comedic approaches geared to Twitter, or make more exciting posts on their Instagram to gain that same TikTok attention.
